LHS art teacher Lisa Galloway will host the winter sessions of “live” drawings. Amateur and experienced artists can gather together to draw people and/or objects that are “live” in front of them to improve their skills and create new artworks. Artists stand at easels and use a variety of paper and drawing materials like graphite, charcoal, and chalk pastels to draw a model or “still life” objects in front of them. A clothed model starts with many short poses then does a couple of long poses. After the model poses for 90 minutes, the artists may stay for up to 30 more minutes to finish their work and clean up.
Sessions will be held Thursdays, 4 – 6 PM, Jan 19, Jan 26, Feb 2, and Feb 9 at LHS art room T104.
If this is your first time, come to the first session 15 minutes early to talk with the instructor and get comfortable. Don’t expect to become an expert in a few hours, but do expect to see your abilities improve as you continue!
Cost is $20 for LAC members, $50 for non-members. All materials are included.
